The Declaration Of Independence is a document that proclaimed Independence from England.
It stated that people had natural rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.This document was mainly written by Thomas Jefferson, in 1776.Thomas Jeffferson wrote this document so the people would have independence, but the king of England did not like it.That's when the British and the colonists had a battle called the Battle Of Lexington and Concord, that was their first armed conflict Revolutionary War. That's when the goverment was thinking about independence. Then, the Battle of Saratoga happened
